When I started taking street photos, my natural tendency was to continue looking for portraiture: with tighter frames in particular.
With time and experience, I learned that context and situations are even more important due to the prominent social and cultural aspects that this type of photography entails.

In Spain, the publication of street photographs is governed by Organic Law 1/1982, of May 5, on Civil Protection of the Right to Honor, Personal and Family Intimacy and One’s Own Image. According to this law, the capture and publication of photographs that include people in public places is permitted without prior consent.

In short, street photography is important and deserves to be published because it offers a unique window into urban life, tells meaningful stories, reflects human diversity, documents change, and fosters creativity in both photographers and those who appreciate them.
